Countryfile Live Report to the Probus magazine

Warfield Ladies Probus Club

outing to

Countryfile Live at Blenheim Palace

A coach with 45 members and guests left Ascot High Street on Thursday 3rd August for the Countryfile Live event amongst much excitement and anticipation of a wonderful day.  We were not disappointed.  The weather could have been kinder but a couple of light rain showers did not dampen the thrill of attending many of the shows attractions.

Something for everyone, viewing the livestock: pigs (I didn’t realise there were so many different breeds), cattle, sheep and horses. The Shires were awesome.  Craft stalls were in abundance as were the food stations.

The Countryfile presenters held an open-air theatre show, Countryfile Close-Up, several times during the day, assisted by the street theatre group Cirque Bijou. The show that we saw was hosted by John Craven, Tom Heap and Anita Rani; a Question & Answer session plus a look back over the past year’s Countryfile TV shows.

After the show one of our members managed to “nobble” John outside the appropriately named “Craven Arms” pub and ask for a photo to be published in the Probus Magazine which, as you can see, he kindly agreed to.

At 5 p.m. a happy coach load of folk returned home. No, we didn’t lose anyone despite the 100 acre site.

A fantastic day out and we would strongly recommend next year’s event to anyone considering going.
